Host a Book Discussion! |
 |
Book discussions and public readings can provide effective ways to reach library patrons. More books have been written about Lincoln than any other American president, providing a lengthy list of options for effective discussions.
The KALBC, KDLA, and KHS hope libraries will take this opportunity to host book discussions focused on Lincoln during the Lincoln Bicentennial which lasts until 2010.

Host a Public Showing of Lincoln: "I, too, am a Kentuckian." |
 |
Kentucky Educational Television (KET) worked in conjunction with the Kentucky Historical Society and the Kentucky Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission to produce Lincoln: I, Too, Am a Kentuckian, an extensive documentary that discusses the sixteenth president’s bluegrass connections. With intriguing interviews from our nation’s top Lincoln scholars and beautiful footage of Lincoln-related sites from across the country shot in high-definition, I, Too, Am a Kentuckian will stand as a high-quality resource for information about Lincoln and Kentucky.
Thanks to the generosity of the KALBC and KDLA, every public library in Kentucky will receive a complimentary copy of the documentary. We encourage libraries to host a public showing, and make the DVD available to be checked out by your patrons.
