Suggested Reading: Lincoln Children's Books

In addition to book discussions for adults, the number of children’s books related to Abraham Lincoln make public readings for children a great educational opportunity.

The Kentucky Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission hopes that Kentucky libraries and communities will host several public readings throughout the month of Lincoln’s 200th birthday, February 2009.  These public readings will be a successful way to engage our youngest constituents and will help teach a new generation of Kentuckians about Lincoln’s bluegrass birth and his many Kentucky connections.

KHS suggests the following Lincoln children's books:

Raymond Bial, Where Lincoln Walked (1998).  Recommended for grades 4-7.
