Kentucky's Bicentennial Celebration of Abraham Lincoln

Community Outreach Programs

Several Lincoln-related community outreach programs are available in the commonwealth. They include:

Kentucky Humanities Council Chautauqua Performances featuring Abraham Lincoln, Mary Todd Lincoln, Emilie Todd Helm, Margaret Garner, and Henry Clay.

Kentucky Historical Society Museum Theatre -- Productions include Back to the Bluegrass: Mary Todd Comes Home, which introduces students to the wife of one of America's greatest presidents and explores how an educated but emotional woman tried to cope with the tensions of being Abraham Lincoln's first lady.  For more information, contact Greg Hardison at greg.hardison@ky.gov

Kentucky Historical Society HistoryMobile -- This 300-square-foot exhibit inside a tractor-trailer is currently journeying throughout the commonwealth. The traveling museum's new "Kentucky's Abraham Lincoln" exhibit tells the story of Abraham Lincoln's connections to his native state. Kentucky Historical Society Museums-to-Go -- this portable five-panel Lincoln exhibit will be available for community venues in August 2008.
