Farmington Historic Home Regent Speed Stodghill and Dolores DelahantyThe National Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission held a press conference in September to announce plans for the Gala and National Commemoration Kick-off events, which will be held in Kentucky. A gala is planned for February 11, with the actual kick-off ceremony on February 12, 2008.

Borglum Lincoln Bust at University of Kentucky

Bronze Lincoln BustThis album contains images of the Borglum Lincoln Bust at the University of Kentucky. The much-admired original was done in marble in 1908 by the prominent sculptor, Gutzon Borglum. Borglum would later design and execute the huge sculpture groups at Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Mount Rushmore, South Dakota. This bronze copy of the original was donated to the university in 1969 by the industrialist, book and art collector and philanthropist, Philip D. Sang of River Forest, Illinois.
